Plants and Animals Live Together

Plants and Animals Live Together is a Class 3 Environmental Studies chapter from Our Wondrous World. The chapter helps children understand how closely plants, animals, birds, insects, and soil are connected. Children observe animals living on, around, and underneath plants, including frogs, butterflies, caterpillars, squirrels, birds, ants, earthworms, and other small creatures.
 

The chapter explores life in the soil, how soil is formed, and the many insects and creatures that live in it. Children learn how animals depend on different parts of plants for food, shelter, nesting, and resting—for example, camels eat leaves, monkeys eat fruits, sunbirds and butterflies drink nectar, and birds use tree hollows or twigs to build nests.
