Living in Harmony is a Class 3 Environmental Studies chapter from Our Wondrous World, aligned with GSEB learning. The chapter explains how people, plants, animals, birds, and insects depend on one another and how we can live together with care, kindness, and respect.
Students learn how animals and plants share our homes and surroundings, how plants provide food, shelter, shade, medicine, fibre, wood, and fresh air, and how animals help plants by dispersing seeds and making soil fertile. The chapter also includes activities on observing animals, studying ants, caring for a plant, identifying animals by their movements, and learning about the Grey Wagtails that visit Valparai.
The chapter develops Observation Skills, Environmental Awareness, Empathy, Social & Emotional Skills, Communication Skills, Critical Thinking, Care and Responsibility, and Teamworking.
