Getting to Know Plants

Getting to Know Plants is a Class 3 Environmental Studies chapter from Our Wondrous World, aligned with GSEB learning. The chapter introduces children to the diversity of plants around them and helps them observe their different sizes, shapes, features, and uses.
 

Students learn about important parts of a plant, including roots, stems, leaves, flowers, fruits, and seeds. The chapter also explores different leaf colours, shapes, sizes, textures, and smells, along with plant examples such as mango, peepal, lotus, tulsi, mint, tomato, bamboo, money plant, pumpkin, and watermelon.
 

The chapter develops Observation Skills, Nature Awareness, Critical Thinking, Classification Skills, Communication Skills, Creativity, Care and Responsibility, and Teamworking. Children learn to identify different types of plants, observe plant parts and changes, understand how plants grow, and develop care and respect for the natural world.
