Word Tic Tac Toe

Ready for a fun and educational twist on a classic game? Word Tic Tac Toe is a fantastic way for children to practice word recognition, spelling, and problem-solving while enjoying a friendly game of tic-tac-toe!
 

In this activity, children will play a game of tic-tac-toe, but instead of using X and O, they will use words or letters. The game board can be drawn on paper or a whiteboard, and instead of placing the usual X’s and O’s in the grid, children will write or place words or letters in each square. For example, one player might have to place a word that starts with the letter A, and the other player would place a word that starts with B.
 

This activity helps children practice word recognition by identifying familiar words and spelling them correctly as they try to complete a row, column, or diagonal. It also reinforces phonics as they sound out the letters in the words.
