In the NCERT Physics book Physics Part 1 (Class 11, Chapter – “System of Particles and Rotational Motion”), you learn how multiple particles behave when they are considered together as a system. You explore the concept of the centre of mass, which helps describe the motion of a group of particles as a single point.

You also study rotational motion, where objects rotate about an axis instead of moving in a straight line. The chapter introduces important concepts such as torque, angular momentum, and moment of inertia, which explain how rotational motion occurs and changes.

You learn how the principles of linear and angular momentum conservation apply to systems of particles and rotating bodies. Through this chapter, you develop the ability to analyze both translational and rotational motion, helping you understand the behavior of many real-world mechanical systems.
