

Grassroots Democracy – Part 1: Governance is a Class 6 Social Science chapter from Exploring Society: India and Beyond for GSEB students. It introduces students to the idea of democracy at the local level and explains how governance works through institutions that represent and serve people in their communities.
Through examples of local administration and participation, students learn about decision-making, representation, responsibilities, and the role of citizens in community governance. The chapter encourages them to understand how democratic processes function in everyday life.
