Want to learn how to recognize and express opinions clearly? Opinion passages share what someone thinks or believes about a topic. This playsheet helps you practice reading passages with opinions and then forming your own responses with reasons.

You’ll read examples where authors take a position, such as “School uniforms are helpful because they reduce distractions.” Your task will be to identify the opinion, spot the supporting reasons, and decide whether you agree or disagree.

Through guided activities, you’ll highlight opinion words, underline supporting details, and write short responses to show your own point of view. These exercises help you see the difference between fact and opinion while building your persuasive writing skills.
