On the face of It

On the Face of It is a moving play from the NCERT Class 12 English textbook Vistas, written by Susan Hill. The play tells the story of Derry, a fourteen-year-old boy whose face has been badly scarred by acid. Because of his appearance, he feels isolated, bitter, and rejected by society. One day, he enters the garden of Mr Lamb, an elderly man with a tin leg.
